Basket strainer, designed to remove foreign matter from pipelines and provide protection for pumps, meters, valves and other similar mechanical equipment, is also known as a strainer. The basket strainer features top removal of the filter element, which takes the form of a basket with a lifting handle, making it easy to remove all particulate matter captured and retained by the filter element for disposal. The particulate matter is trapped in the strainer basket, and the process line is temporarily shut down to remove the basket for cleaning or replacement. Basket strainers are constructed from stainless steel perforated sheet.
